International Chess Tournament 2025

Each year, Vlissingen hosts the annual chess tournament. This prestigious event takes place at Hogeschool Zeeland (HZ) and attracts chess players from all over the world.

What can you expect?

• Tournament: With over 200 players from various countries, it promises to be an exciting event. The tournament consists of 9 rounds.
• Location and Audience: All activities take place in the Atrium of the school building at Hogeschool Zeeland, located on Edisonweg in Vlissingen. The public is warmly welcomed, but don’t forget to switch off your mobile phone in the playing hall and remain quiet.
• Cozy Chess Café: Next to the playing hall, there is a cozy chess café where anyone can play a game of chess and follow top-board games on TV screens. You can chat about chess and other topics in detail here.
