Vlissingen 1572 is an annual public event that commemorates the proud uprising of Vlissingen against Spanish rule. On 6 April 1572, the people of Vlissingen were the very first in the Netherlands to drive the Spanish forces out of their city!

Historical Commemoration: Relive one of the most important moments in the history of Vlissingen: the day the city regained its identity, pride, and freedom.
Festive Activities: The city centre – including Bellamypark, the Lange Zelke, and the MuZEEum – forms the backdrop for a nostalgic and spectacular city celebration.
Fun for All Ages: Enjoy street theatre, shanty choirs, live performances, and old-fashioned fun with traditional Dutch games, a carousel, bouncy castles, and much more.
Step into the Past: Children can take photos in historical costumes at the photo booth or explore the vintage and old crafts market.
